Meet Dr. Rick Woodworth

Dr. Richard Woodworth is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and the treatment of the hip, knee, and shoulder.

Since 2009, he has provided orthopaedic surgical care in the Las Vegas area, helping patients recover from injuries, restore movement, and return to the activities they love. His expertise includes arthroscopic surgery, rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery, ligament reconstruction, fracture care, and joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder.

Dr. Woodworth joined Desert Orthopaedic Center in 2020 and has served as a team physician for the Henderson Silver Knights and Las Vegas Aces.

His interest in health extends beyond surgery. Through Out of the OR, Dr. Woodworth explores a bigger question:

What can we do before surgery ever becomes necessary?

The podcast expands the conversation beyond orthopaedics into health, strength, recovery, longevity, wellness, and the evolving treatments and technologies helping people live better for longer.

Dr. Woodworth also offers shockwave therapy, a noninvasive treatment for chronic tendon conditions affecting areas including the shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, and SI joint. The therapy uses targeted sound waves to promote healing and reduce pain with minimal downtime.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Woodworth enjoys downhill skiing, mountain biking, wakeboarding, waterskiing, golf, lacrosse, and soccer. He also plays the saxophone.
